About Schooner Valora

Valora is a 36' schooner of unique design – very traditional in both appearance and construction. She is a very able and comfortable vessel. She is the result of a passionate collaboration between her owner, Karl Frey, and her designer and builder, David Stimson, and you would be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable way to spend a day on Martha's Vineyard Sound than aboard Valora. She is described in detail in an article from Wooden Boat Magazine written about her shortly after launching in 2006.

Valora was built purposely so that folks could get out on the water and enjoy the experience of sailing a classic yacht, and her owner works hard to assure that the experience is available to those without access to a King's ransom. Valora has a large center cockpit, providing comfort and safety for her guests. The Wooden Boat reprint will help a great deal for someone wondering about Valora's pedigree.
